Yeah! We played in a studentbar with SiC and some more cool bands.

This time we replaced some UK band. The booker promised us the place would sell out, but just a bunch of skaterkids and some gothics showed up. We were there all day, waiting for the soundcheck and waiting for the promised Chinese food. By the time it arrived we were so hungry we all ate too fast and got sick when the show started. The show was okay, but after an endless soundcheck (Abel: "Nooo... a little bit louder.... noooo... just a little softer... noooo..." etc.), the sound still sucked. We played They All Feel The Same for the first time, think it rocked. And we had fun with Laternpoll. They're great guys.

* And the 9th time Sniff The Tea was the last song!
* It's the 24th time we played Little Duckie!
* It was also our 10th show in the cold month December!
* And it was the 3rd time we played on the 12th of the month!
* It was our 9th show in a bar!
* It was our 4th show in a venue with a name starting with the letter 'B'!

It was fun.

After a nice summerbreak, we finally played in our own town again! It had been almost a year since we played in Amersfoort, and almost two years since we played in de Kelder. It was a last minute thing, so not too many people showed up. Per Expressie organised the Kelder-night, and we played with Rocker Arms. Our show was cool. We spiced it up with some weird Dutch poetry-intermezzo's by Abel and Bart. It was fun.

This was weird... We played two songs, with only a jury listening. The vibe was uncomfortable but the sound was amazing! We didn't win anything, but had some fun with the other bands and we spend a nice day in Utrecht. And... Tivoli is great!

Our big night... the second Stuck In A Day cd presentation, with over 120 fans, three other bands and many beers! Sold some cd's, played a tight show, had fun with Five Years Later, DNA and Sacred Life... a great party.

We're back! Last time we played here, in 2000, was a big party, with a nice show and an even nicer bath! This time we played with Strechter, a poprock band from Utrecht. It was the third show of the weekend, and we were all very tired, but we had so much fun, we totally forgot about it. We rocked the house and got some great reactions.

After spending the afternoon on the beach, we played a nice but heavily interrupted show. Remco had some trouble with strings and guitars. We shared the stage with our friends Five Years Later, so it was kinda cosy. And there were some bulldogs walking around, looking for Red Bull (seriously!). It was a good night out.

Weird... this was one of the semi-finals of Stimorol Stagemasters. And it was supposed to be a party for the Marianum College, but none of the students showed up... so the other bands formed the audience, plus some parents and friends. I think we played a good show, but we didn't win. And Groenlo is extremely far from home!

We played at the Wraak van Brabant, with some cool bands, like Woost. It was a great night, we got some tasty food, enough drinks to forget our lousy show and we celebrated Bart's 16th birthday by dancing like a bunch of crazy punks.

Our first cd presentation of "Everyone Reacts Differently (but they all feel the same)"! AMP is a nice venue, we've played there before a year ago. This time with Five Years Later and DNA. There weren't too many people, but it was cute, with some family and good friends. We rocked hard, and so did the other bands.

Whoohoo! Another victory! This was for Stimorol Stagemasters, and the TwentieToe is pretty huge! It was a contest between 4 bands, and yeah... we won! The jury compared us to Di-rect, which is... well... I guess it's a compliment.

Yeah! We are the greatest! We played with BBK and Beans, two kinda... ehh streetpunkbands. So the audience was kinda surprised by our melodic punkrock. But we played well, we rocked, we made a nice show, and after 20 minutes, some people were dancing and actually made a small pit. Thanks!

Wow... we fucked up the set like never before! Bart couldn't come, but well... we just sucked. We had a nice night though. Our ex-gitarist Daan showed up, there were a lot of elderly women yelling, and a homeless guy sitting on the stage during our show. Quite funny. We played Dangerous Grandmas as soundcheck, and it ruled! :)

Hey! Looks like we got ourselves a new worst show ever! Actually, before the show, we had a great night. And after the show, we had even more fun. But the show sucked big time. The sound was so awful... Cry about it! Really. And it was soooo hot on stage. And we (at least I) was kinda drunk too, so I messed things up a little. We played Reflection for the first time, and we screwed it up hard! Anyway... I had a nice time with all the friendly people. Always nice to play with DNA and the other bands (Crash Out and Influx) were kinda cool too. Pity Stefan the Punk got kicked out so he couldn't 'sing' =punk. But Dirkjan did a great job! We shot some nice images for the Reality Strikes Back video, and we didn't leave before there was no beer to be found and everyone (everyone!) had a NIRC-sticker on their bum. Big thank you to UNSKAM and especially all the cool people who came to see us. Sorry for playing so crappy, we'll make it up to you, ok?

Wow, do you know where Nisse is? Neither did we, but now we do: far from Amersfoort. But it was worth it! We played on a very cool festival with our scenemates Five Years Later and punkrockers For The Alliance. The sound was bad bad bad, but the beer was good good good. Reality Strikes Back is an awesome song to start with. There were a lot of nice kids dancing and jumping when we played, great! We handed out stickers, signed promo-cd's... Thanks to everybody @ Containertrip.

Ha! Roosendaal is faaaar away from Amersfoort! We played with Jynx, pretty cool local punkrockers. Not a lot of people showed up, but we didn't really care. I guess we played a funny show, on an extremely small stage... There were some guitar-problems ut Abel talked some nice bullshit onstage to make up for that. Thanks to Jynx for the show and the guitars, the photos and the recording. Next time: Jynx & NIRC in Amersfoort! :)

Haaaaaaaa this was probably the most fun I ever had after a show... :) It was a skaters/boardersparty organised by UNSKAM. We played a pretty good show, and all the skaterdudes and dudettes made us feel like real punkrockstars! We got really, really drunk, and I mean really, really, really drunk. Really. Snatching Jenny played a kinda funny danceable show, but well... not my music. I think we played Reality Strikes Back for the first time, and it rocked! Stefan the Punk "sang" on =punk, very funny. I kinda lost the playlist, but we played a nice en tight 30 minutes set. Thank you everybody who was there... thanks to Piet, who drove our stuff, and thanks to the Unskam people!

AAAAH! We were asked to be the support for our heroes Travoltas. But we had just ditched Daan! So we found a new guitarplayer in Bart, and he managed to learn all the songs in two weeks. Great! So we played a nice show in the Peppel. Starting off with Pleasant Thoughts, a song that is no fun to hear, but great fun to play. The new songs were cool, and we really messed up Stupid Sucking Shit and FAFCLOTS. The sound was super, thanks to the Peppelpeople! We've played there before two years ago. And we have played as support for Travoltas, three years ago. So now we were about to present the new and improved NIRC! I guess we did, cause we got a lot of good reactions. We got some great compliments from Travoltas! And there were cool people for us. Of course, mostly parents, but some cool punkdudes too. :) Thank you people!

Songs: Caddilac Girl, Skip The Shit, Bad Horor Cycle, Wish It Was Summer, Know It All, Life Is Short, Cherry From The Valley, When The Beats Commence (The Snaters).

Another show with The Snaters. But Daan already left NIRC, and Abel played bass and did backing vocals, so again, NIRC was onstage. It was really funny... We played almost all our songs, plus some nice covers from Lagwagon and Travoltas. Most songs sounded pretty crappy, but some of them rocked hard, especially with the played-a-live guitars, bass and backing vocals. There weren't too many people, but some of them were singing, clapping and almost-dancing. And we had a very nice dinner there, and two songs were played on the radio! Huge thanks go out to the Geraerts-family and the Pothuys-people!

So. Nice to be back in Hooglanderveen again. We played there exactly four years ago! This time we played on a punkrock festival, with dWEEB and Five Years Later, our scenemates. We had a great time, played some nice songs, and I guess it all looked and sounded very punk. By the way, Daan was sick, so he couldn't come. That means the Amsterdam-show was his last show ever. We played Little Duckie for the last time, at least we said so. Superpunker Stefan did the vocals for =punk, and it sounded kinda cool. Thanks to the dWEEB-drummer for borrowing his cymbals. And thanks to all the dancing punkers for the support!

Big city Amsterdam, yeah! We got this gig because Screwballs mentioned us. We met the saxophoneplayer in the Kelder at the KPA. We played with Screwballs and another band, and we were first. The sound was pretty good this time. Well, not on stage, but for the audience. There wasn't much of an audience, actually. Some friends and parents, and the other bands. I think we played a great show, we got some really nice reactions. Played all our new songs again, they rule man. And our favorite song Pleasant Thoughts, still a hit.

Songs:
Elevator Girl, Sniff The Tea, 35%, Lame, As Lisa Floats Away, Seriously Wasted, Stop! In The Name Of Love

This was the Kleine Prijs van Amersfoort again. We played there three years ago, and back then we somehow managed to get through the first round. This time, we were soooo much better, but we didn't make it. We played all our new songs, and I think we played pretty good. Plus, we dressed really fancy, with blue ties! But there was some shit with the sound, as usual, so to the audience it sounded terrible. They only heard Daan's guitar. Hm. Anyways, Remco and I got really drunk, so we had fun. And there were many people for us! Of course, a lot of parents, but also a lot of cute punkrockers from Amersfoort. They say they're inspired by us... We were flattered.

November 4
Place: 't Oude Pothuys, Utrecht
Songs:
all semi-acoustic

Huha! We played all our songs in a very special version. Most of them sounded kinda like 'Coffee & TV' by Blur. And actually, we thought it was pretty cool. We had a huge playlist, and played only half of it. There were a lot of fans, that was awesome. Girls were yelling and fainting and we handed out autographes, like it should be. The place was kinda small, but cosy huh. We kinda fucked up most of the songs live, especially Abel's lyrics had a hard time. We played with BgR, and they were very cool! And! We got payed for it, so...

Well... we had fun. We played with a cool band called... There were three punkers and three NIRC fans. We played a cool playlist, but it sounded really crappy. Especially Daan's amp sounded pretty much like a telephonespeaker. Which can be really cool, but Daan didn't enjoy it. Anyway, we had fun.

This was a kinda weird show for Abel's parents party. We played 30 minutes and again, we didn't really practise. It was Sunday, it was early, but we played kinda good. We played Abel's parent's favorite songs for about 50 or more people, all sitting in a bright partyhall. Weird, but funny. We had a nice time, 'cause The Wibra's were there and we did the conga!!

Songs: Detailed Description, Stop! In The Name Of Love

Speaking of funny shows... We didn't practise, we met 30 minutes before the show with all our stuff. We didn't do a soundcheck, there wasn't even a soundsystem!
The show was for Daan and Bram's graduation, so it was at school. The last time we played there was euh...June 21 1999, exactly two years ago! People said we sounded good, and everybody liked our version of "Stop! In The Name Of Love". And the best thing about that night: Daan and I graduated! Bye bye school!!

Place: Huis a/d Werf, Utrecht
Songs: A Whopper A Day, Bad Horror Cycle 2000 (The Snaters).

Actually, this was a show with Beachball, aka The Snaters. But Daan did some raps and Abel played bass and backing vocals, so actually, we were NIRC. It was fun, we played really bad, but very funny.

February 3
Place: Utrecht
Songs: She Believes Whatever You Tell Him, Seriously Wasted, Sniff The Tea, Inject The Coffee.

This was an acoustic gig for a radiostation in Utrecht, called U-pop Radio. Daan couldn't come, cause he had to go to the Art Academy in Den Bosch. We practised the night before, with Daan, Sterre and Iris, and laughed our asses of. We made up "wap wap woepie-toe" and played every old NIRC song we almost forgot about. The show was called "Badkuipsessie". They mixed the sound of bubbling water through the interview, kinda nasty. But we had fun doing the interview.  We chose three songs of other bands: "The Grouch" by Green Day, "After You My Friend" by Lagwagon and "Pacific Coast Highway" by Travoltas. We talked a bunch of bullshit about ourselves, played three acoustic songs, one of them was the new one. After the show Iris and Abel went back through the snow, and Remco and I visited Matthijs, who appeared to live in the neighbourhood. After that we had a Whopper at Amersfoort CS, and picked up some awesome Burger King-flags. So.

Well...what to say? We had a great time, from the minute we came in, 'till the second we got out! Stairway is the best! We did a 15-minute soundcheck, and had a perfect sound! We played a kinda brilliant show, and had a lot of fun onstage. Abel had some trouble with his voice, but that sounded really punkrock. "Stop! In The Name..." still works really well with the audience, "Pleasant Thoughts" is still much fun and "She Believes..." still really hurts my hands and legs. But we played our newest song as encore, "Sniff the tea..." and it went quite well. There were really many people, both fans and drunks. Some weird punkers kept stagediving and dancing. Cool! But the real fun started after the show, in the dressing-room! It was huge, and besides a filled fridge there was this enormous bath, with thousands of mirrors! So...we put on our swimming trunks and dived in! It was amazing! We got awfully drunk (for a Wednesday) and left a huge piece of art on the wall. We really felt like rockstars for one night, it was unforgettable. Thanks everyone who was there, we had a wonderful time! Our first show in months! Koospop was a small punkfestival. There were two other bands, with real punkers! It was great, we had a lot of fun and a lot of beer. There were not too many people, and the whole festival was organized...well...punk. But we played a nice show, a lot of new songs, a lot of old songs. We talked a bunch of bullshit onstage, Remco and I had a small water-war and we also played some crappy music. We deticated 'Little Duckie' to Anneke, 'Boarding' to Emiel and '=punk' to Lonneke. And thanks to Tim for lunch, breakfast and a place to stay. Well...actually, I don't remember much, I just had fun. Hope you had fun too!

Dwergpop is an awesome, free festival! Other bands were: Green Lizard, Draft, Pineapple Flush, Blue Band, etc! It was really well organised, so we felt like real artists! We played a really lousy show, but hey, who cares, since we're rockstars! And we played on this HUGE stage, way to big for us little kiddies. And we won too! Yeah we won!! We were kinda suprised, cause we didn't do a soundcheck so our sound wasn't that great, and we were just a little nervous (ahumpje) and well, WE SUCKED! Ok?!! But we had a sorta nice juryreport and made a lot of new friends! We had a great day and night, got drunk like never before and were acting like a couple of dizzy cows! Hahaha. This was funny. There was totally no one, except for our great fans! Wow, we love you, remember that! But we played one whole our, and that looong! We started kinda excellent actually, but got tired and crappy after a while. But it all sounded very good, cause we had a very proffessional soundtech named Andre! We played "Sorry For..." and "She Believes..." for the first time live, and well, we need to practise them some more, but they're very ehh danceable! After the show we had an awesome afterparty, with all the fans! We got money for it, so it was ok do play there, but next time we want more audience!!

Songs:
Little Duckie, Stupid Sucking Shit, Detailed Description, Stop! In The Name Of Love, Friendly Request, Taken Aback, 35%, FAFCLOTS, Abstruseness, Psychical Jerks.

It was fun! We won, ofcourse, and we got really, really drunk! There were a few cool fans, and we played a quite good show. Because we won, we're gonna play at Dwergpop June 1. The audience was ok, the venue sucked big time, and because we brought our own backline, we sounded pretty alright. And we met some other bands too, losers haha!

This was "Zondagsrust". We were playing with a band called Sleen. We played 50 minutes, and it rocked from one till z! Really, so far this was the best long show we ever had. There were a lot of fans, all very cool people! And the Peppel-crew was very friendly and professional too! They made a great live-recording for us, which definitly rocks! "Stop in the name of love" worked really well, and so did our funny opener "Heatcliff". We also played a new jungle-alike version of Little Duckie and Supermouse for the first time. We made a lot of little mistakes, but our sound in the place was good, and we had fun! We ended as 5th of the 8 in the contest. Sleen ended 6th. Peppel: we'll be back!

Recordings: lots of photos, great live-cd!

January 28
Place: Omroep Amersfoort Studios

Detailed Description (cd), Stupid Sucking Shit (acoustic).

Haha, this was really funny! Remco, Abel and I (Bram) were there and we kinda joking the presentor around. We talked about the Keistad Hardcore Scene, our new cd, the meaning of our lyrics, and other very useless shit!

Our first concert of the new millennium! Yup it was the best we've had all year...:). No really, we've never had so much fun at one night! Only Remco was a little ill but he was all drugged. We played really crappy and the sound at the stage and in the ehh zaal was very bad, but well we had fun. When we entered the stage there were like thousands of people screaming for us! And we hadn't even played one note yet! And some people sang along every word!! I kinda smashed up my hand and the blood was all over me, but when I came out of the dressing room I forgot it all cause there were girls everywhere yelling and asking for our autographs! We put a few on very beautiful belly's! How cool is that!
Ok we didn't win, but there were a couple of really great bands. We had a kinda bad jury-review, but the jury-people must really be a bunch of assholes! Really! The said that we should give more space to the vocals!!
Apparently all our singing got lost in the bass and guitar noise, but that's not our fault, but the soundtechnician's! But hell, we had a great night! Thanx to everyone that came to see us: Anneke, Loes, Eva, Sandra, Marloes, Victor, Arthur, Jessie, Frank, Boye, Koen, Sara, Douwe, Nancy, Jasper, Dirk-Jan, Nick, Colin, Mike, Yannick, Jasper, Joke, Guido, Melissa, Lotte, Matthijs, Evert, Iris, Kyra, Githa, Pam, Iris, Harry, Gemma and everyone else! Thanks to you we were second for the Publieksprijs with 42 votes! See you next time!

Oktober 30
Place: Bram's place, Amersfoort
Songs: all acoustic, we made up the playlist while playing...i don't remember...

It was fun! It's went quite ok, our songs are really playable unplugged! The room we played in was kinda small and the technics didn't really work along, but well, we sold another few cd's! A lady said we made her skin crawl when we played Flossing! And Remco's little sister "sang" along most of our songs really loud! Great huh! We had an awesome party and a lot of fun. And not even that much beer!

Recordings

This was our first cd-presentation! It was great! There were so many great people, all for us! We felt very happy that evening! The weather was good too! We played a terrific show, much longer than the planned playlist! Were supposed to stop after =punk, but the crowd kept asking for more, until
I jumped off the stage to have a drink. We are great at having drinks! Remco, Daan and I drank a lot of beer, maybe a bit too much. And Abel was drunk of the coca cola. We tried to play some more songs later that evening but that didn't work out well. Two guys of the awesome Dutch band Travoltas were also there, and they drank a lot too. We had so much fun and so little sleep! We sold over 60 cd's and signed about half of them! It was so damn cool! Thanx to all the kind people that were there in Oss! We even had our own real sound-techinician, Marie. He was so good! And the Geraerts family knows how to build a party! Also special thanx to Arthur! We hope every show we gonna play will be such a party and can't wait to present our next cd!!

June 21

Place: Werkplaats Kindergemeendschap, Bilthoven, Holland.
Songs: 20 Cents, Iah, Boaring.

Yeah it's been a while since we played this gig, cause i forgot to write this thingy. I guess it went ok. OH! Yeah it was great, we had a lot of compliments, I remember. I had to play on school's drumset and that thing sucks a lot. But it was funny 'cause I hit the crash cymbal on the ground two times and....well it said CRASH, as it should. We played really fast and did our three songs in 6 minutes orso. People told us it sounded great (teachers....) but we know it didn't cause the school's amps and stuff suck and we also played without Remco. But since we played at the Kutbende, we think the school sounds great. :)

April 11

Place: Huis a/d Werf, Utrecht, Holland. (at the Kunstbende)
Songs: Blind Date, Invented Action Heroes.

We played great show, but didn't win a thing. But that's not what we came for after all. But when we saw the first few bands, we thought we'd have a little chance. The speakers sounded like telephones there, and there was no stage!! The presentor sucked, we hated them and he us. We wanted to play 3 songs, but he wouldn't let us. We had a great day, had a lot of fun en maybe we learned something too. Wouldn't know what however. KUTBENDE SUCKS! Don't play there!! Really it's a pathetic mess!!

We were the support act of the TRAVOLTAS!! It was too cool to tell! But I'll try it anyways. All the songs went great and it sounded great, because Rene, the Travoltas' sound technician did our sound too! Remco's guitar kept getting out of tune. This was quite irritating, but we had a great time anyway. We had a lot of fun with the Travoltas, they're awesome! When we were playing, they were lying out of the dressing room yelling and screaming, unreal! Guido made great photos, and a Kelder-guy made a bad soundrecording. We even played Molly's Lips! And people were dancing and stuff! Less cool was that Daan couldn't come and play this gig, so we couldn't play Little Duckie and =Punk. That sucked, especially for Daan.
So we had the time of our life and we actually got payed for it!!

Well, it was ok I guess. A bit weird. The audience was quite quiet. But the ehh musical-part of it went great. We had a strange but good feeling about it. We played without making big mistakes, but we made just a few small ones. It sounded cool in there, but a little too loud. We had some great compliments, but it sucked.

1998

December 26
Place: de Kelder, Amersfoort, Holland.
Songs: Jingle Bells, Dork, Little Duckie, Snarky, Blind Date, Mars mellows, Psychical Jerks Acoustic, Optical Illusions.

This was the finale for the KPA. We ended at a shared 3th/4th place. So we lost awfully, actually. Some people said we played a better show then last week, some say we didn't. I (and that's Bram) didn't think it sounded great. We had the soundcheck again, but the technicians screwed it up. And I couldn't place my cymbals and toms right, so I didn't hit where I wanted to hit all the time. Remco's guitar sounded very cool, because he just bought an new effect-pedal. But he had to find out how it worked yet. The last two (acoustic) songs were really fucked up, because the monitors didn't work and so on. The jury said some terrible things too including that we maybe should listen to other bands than Nirvana and the Smashing Pumpkins. Grrr!Smashing Pumkins??! But whatever, we had a good time, met nice people and gained a lot of usefull experiences too. The results:
1: quick & brite
2: Spleen Morris
3/4: M.O.B. / NIRC
This is what the Amersfoortse Courant said (in Dutch):

"Serieus

Recordings: lots of photos, bad quality tape.

December 19

Place: de Kelder, Amersfoort, Holland.
Songs: Abstruseness, Psychical Jerks, Dangerous Grandmas, Blind Date, Intricate, Fat-Assed Female Cop Lying On The Stairs, =Punk.

So far this was the best performance ever! There were a lot of good bands but we have won!! We didn't expect we would win, because there were four very good bands like Declined, Frozen Bread, Similar F (Orange) and Kid Stardust. The songs we played sounded very good, because we had the soundcheck. We played Blind Date for Boye and =Punk especially for Joost (gna, gna). Everybody said that we played very well. It was soooo cool, and next week we're going to do it again! Yeeha!

Place: Mediacentrum Amersfoort, Amersfoort, Holland.
Songs: (Abstruseness), Psychical Jerks Acoustic.

We were asked by Omroep Amersfoort to do an interview. That was because we were playing at KPA the next day. The KPA is a sort of festival-talentscouting-kinda-like-thingy. There was a friendly but a bit annoying interviewer. We brought our demo with us, and they played Abstruseness of it. Then we (Abel & Bram) played Psychical Jerks Acoustic. It went quite OK. Yo-Whoppa!

December 18

Place: Werkplaats Kindergemeenschap, Bilthoven, Holland.

Songs: Yingle Hell

This time it was a Christmas-Open Podium. The subject was human rights. So we asked Rikkert, a cool punk-guy from school, to write new lyrics on Jingle Bell. He wrote lyrics about animal-rights. It's cool, read it at the lyrics-section. He screamed it, so it sounded quite punk. We played the song 6 times; for every class 2 times. It was all a joke, but it was very funny to do.

Recordings: lots of photos.

November 12

Place: Werkplaats Kindergemeenschap, Bilthoven, Holland.
Songs: Blind Date, Dangerous Grandmas, Abstruseness, Pleasant Thoughts.

Another Open Podium at school, but this time it rocked! There were a few good bands. It went quite good, and the audience applaused very loud. There was only one little (HUGE!) problem: Abel had lost his voice that afternoon when we practised without a microphone, so he had to scream very loud. So had wasted his voice before we had to play, but it sounded good anyways (a little special). We got some nice comments from people so that's cool.

Recordings: photos, minidisc, tape, maybe video.

November 7

Place: Werkplaats Kindergemeenschap, Bilthoven, Holland.
Songs: Dork, Dangerous Grandmas.

This actually was some kinda lecture we had to do for the subject "Music". But the teacher said that it also'd be ok if we just played some songs. So that's what we did. And we told a little about "our history". We got an 8,5 for it!

Recordings: nothing.

September 30

Place: Werkplaats Kindergemeenschap, Bilthoven, Holland.
Songs: Abstruseness.

Again, this was the yearly Open Podium at school. There were more people doing something, like little plays, poems, or making music. Actually there were so much 'performers' that we could only play one song! But that song went great. That's what most people said and what the we thought. In oktober there will be another Open Podium, especially for bands. We will play some more songs then. Maybe the theme of The A-Team, with a keyboard player and some singers instead of trumpetists...

Recordings: photos (?), minidisc (?) and video (?) (we don't have it!!) .

July 10

Place: Park Randenbroek, Amersfoort, Holland.
Songs: Dork, Maidservant, -Thirteen-, Clothing Adventure, Pleasant Thoughts, A Girl Called You, Molly's Lips (The Vaselines), Intricate, Undesirable, To My Cosy Alien, Dork (encore).

This was the first NIRC concert with our own songs. The concert was at a festival in a forest in Amerfoort on a very small stage. There were not many people, because it was quite a rainy day. We played 30 minutes - our own songs. But our repertoire wasn't large enough yet to play 30 minutes, so after a few songs we had to play "the old cover" again, Molly's Lips. The special thing of this concert was that we played with two guitarists. for the first time. Beside Daan, there was Remco, a good friend who was in Amersfoort by accident . Nobody knew about the concert the day before it, because it was arranged in the night of the 9th. So the morning of the 10th we had a fast rehearsal, and then we went to Park Randenbroek to build up our stuff.
The day after the concert in a the festival-paper appeared :

"A, E, G, and then A, C, G, again and there you play that run...
Three chords punk
Exactly at the moment that the festival-chairman entered the festival-terrain, the very young punkband NIRC started their first chords. Three chords punk in due form, and when the three chords are used, we take two new ones. 'Kein Gelul, spielen', is the motto of this band. That wasn't easy in the beginning, because the soundtechnician gave this band microphonestandards but no microphones and cables. When that was settled, they had to go trough the chords: "Look, it begins like this: A, E, G, and then A, C, G again en that run, C, F, G and then the break. You count off, ok?" When the repetition stopped and the concert started wasn't completly clear to the brave audience, but for NIRC the concert was a success-story anyway."

Recordings: tape, photos (+ photos by a real photographer of the newspaper).

March 18

Place: Dissel, Hoogland, Holland.
Songs: Brain Stew (Green Day), Molly's Lips (The Vaselines).

This was a talentscouting. There were a lot of bands, and we were the youngest one. We played Molly's Lips without any trouble, but the end of Brain Stew went wrong. But, like before, everybody told us we sounded good. This is what the jury said:

"NIRC showed a refreshing enthusiasm. If the band stops playing covers en starts to make and play their own repertoire, NIRC could be a nice band. The performing in The Dissel showed potency."

Recordings: crappy video and photos

February 18

Place: NIRC's highschool, the Werkplaats Kindergemeenschap in Bilthoven, Holland.
Songs: Polly (Nirvana), Molly's Lips (The Vaselines) and a small part of Endless Nameless (Nirvana).

This was NIRC's very first 'concert'. There was a party at school, with the yearly "Open Podium". Some people do something and others listen and watch. We were the only band that night. We were very nervous, but everybody said we were great. But we are glad nobody made a sound-recording.
